concept and idea: Nensi Lazić (HR)

Nensi Ukrainczyk was born in 1976 in Zagreb. After finishing the School of Rhythmics and Dance in Zagreb, she studied choreography at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD), continuing at the Tisch School for Performing Arts in New York, in Vienna under a danceWEB scholarship and in Montpellier as participant of six-month program ex.e.r.ce. During and upon completion of her studies she choreographs short dance pieces, two of which were rewarded at the young choreographer competition in Burghausen, Germany. She is one of the founder and artistic director of dance_lab collective formed in 2003 in Zagreb with-in (which) she choreographed several pieces. Her work ‘BorderLines’ was selected for the festival Aerowaves in London 2006.

BorderLines dance composition aims to penetrate into the continuum of time. Spatially limited performers decide on moments (ad hoc) in which they will bring minimal changes into the walk, and by extreme concentration, following twenty five minutes of walking – they must choose the exact and right moment to exit from this space. The piece was awarded at the international choreographic event AEROWAVES 2005.
