L’heure Du Bain, Les Rêveuses, Boléro

Parenthesis (CA / FR)
choreographer: Christophe Garcia

Dancer and choreographer Christophe García attended the Rudra Béjart Studio-School, where, in addition to acquiring dance training, he was introduced to the theatre arts, song and percussion. He made his professional debut with the Béjart Ballet in 1998. Since then, he has worked with Robert Wilson, the Opéra de Marseille and the Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal. In 2003, he became a member of CAS PUBLIC. Over and above his career as a dancer, Christophe García has created a number of his own choreographic works, notably for the Jeune Ballet de France and the Jeune Ballet du Québec and will soon be working with the Scapino Ballet in Holland. He is the founder and Artistic Director and choreographer of the French/Québecois company Parenthèsis. His work has captured a number of international choreography awards.

‘L’heure du bain’ represents one moment of intimacy, meditation and purification. It is one moment when the protagonist finds himself, his own imagination, his interior world. The ‘Bolero’ is Garcia’s take on one of the most interpreted pieces of music, a challenge for any choreographer, while ‘Les Rêveuses’ is a short incursion into the universe of three young women escaping from reality by means of movement, lightness, color, poetry, dreams…It was awarded with Scapino prize in Hanover, Germany and at the Danse de Pesaro, Italy.
